The Schrammie: A snobby, prudish stand

You've gotta be kidding me.

Why would a children's charity take a snobbish stand and turn up its nose at an honest donation?

I'd like to ask someone - anyone - from the Make-A-Wish Foundation to bring along Jiminy Cricket and come on down.

Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has helped fulfill the dreams of kids with life-threatening illnesses.

It needs a lot of help with that, and many of us have been more than glad to donate our money so that children can see their wishes come true.

This week, Make-A-Wish said no to some kids when it said no to a donation.

Seems a local entrepreneur wanted to donate a bunch of money raised from a bikini car wash.

Make-A-Wish refused, saying that women wearing bikinis might be offensive to some.

What I find offensive is not giving a child their wish because of some prudish idea that money raised by women in swimsuits is somehow tainted.

Shame on you, Make-A-Wish.

Shame on you for forsaking a child because of some misguided sensibilities.

This "Schrammie" - which is NOT wearing a bikini (and comes with a donation!) - is for you.
