I gotta tell you, I've never thought of Seattle's Children's Hospital as "aggressive."
But apparently a bunch of hoity-toity Laurelhurst residents do.
Children's is looking to eventually double its bed capacity, add a new emergency department, put in more medical office space and add parking.
Well, taking care of more sick children is just too much for the Laurelhurst Community Club to handle.
The group went whining to the city claiming the hospital would be too big; traffic would be ugly.
Besides, the Laurelhurst upper crust says Children's doesn't need all those additional beds for all those additional sick kids.
So now we have a in city hearing examiner issuing a 37-page report that
says the city council should kill the project because it is too "aggressive" to the surrounding neighborhood.
Hospital officials are now talking about how all this could end with them having to move the hospital outside Seattle.
I'm left trying to come up with a properly polite way to tell all the folks of the Laurelhurst Community Club that I find them to be a sniveling, arrogant, selfish and narcissistic group of cold-hearted people.
Yeah, that about sums it up.
All proper and more polite than I'd prefer.
