The majority of e-mail i got in response to
my blasting the Laurelhurst Community Club (LCC) for its
blocking the expansion of children's hospital was supportive.
But there was also the vocal minority.
Scott Beck sent me a four-page e-mail: "If I see you on TV again, I will immediately turn the channel...You are off way off base with your...critical comments of one of many (Seattle neighborhoods)...Hospitals are not exempt (from city codes)...regardless of the service they perform..."
Cary Lassen: "The LCC's position has always been to support reasonable expansion of the hospital...Your vitriolic, divisive language has done nothing to promote civil discourse."
Tracy Peschon: "The residents of Laurelhurst have been working for a long time with children's hospital and have done nothing but compromise...I will no longer be able to listen to you without wondering what your...bias might be."
An e-mailer wishing to remain anonymous: "Laurelhurst homeowners are not whiners...You used horrible words to describe this wonderful, caring community."
Actually, I believe that the community may indeed be wonderful and caring.
Unfortunately, the powers-that-be who control the Laurelhurst Community Club seem to be anything but.
Thanks for writing everyone.
Have a great weekend.
