My support for the legalization of marijuana provided me with e-mail that was both entertaining and interesting.

Aside from the "were you stoned when you came up with this" type of comment, there were a fair number of people who think that legalizing pot is just plain idiotic.

James Miller writes: "Once again Schram your liberalism, if followed, would cause severe and expensive social problems...Weak minded people like you (only) think about their own pleasure and not the consequences of their actions."

Joanne Krepela: "Allowing (pot) to be legal would be a slippery slope...Marijuana users need to educate themselves about how legalizing (pot) would (really) affect (them).

Dick Johnson: "I say no to pot (and taxing it)...Why would anyone think the government...would spend tax money right?"

Lou Giraldin: "Great. As if it isn't hard enough to find a good job, now (you want to) add pot-positive pee people to that pool."

And finally, from Bobby DeLuca: "Schram (and others like you), you think it's a great idea to make sure that people have another road to travel that leads straight to the gutter...They had you in mind when they nicknamed it dope!"

Gosh, Bobby, I really thought my points were rather intelligent.
