Some wanted to know if I'd skipped my medications.
Most simply assumed I'd lost my mind.
Let's just say that very, very few of you agreed with
my commentary about letting the parents of balloon boy off the legal hook.
George Leventhal writes: "You are so off base with this one...You don't let jerks like this off the hook."
Lou Atcheson: "Sure, it was a good stunt, but what kind of message does it send...They should be fined and sentenced to community service."
Grant Goodwin: "Thousands of dollars and hours of police, fire and even FAA personnel time wasted...(It was a) bad joke."
Dee Smith: "I don't think the parents should be jailed, but I do believe they should pay for the costs incurred by their stunt."
Don and Valerie McGlothern: "Your 'helluva good stunt' carried a helluva good price tag. At the very least they should be responsible for the entire cost."
Doug Chilson: "(the Heene's) should be made an example of and prosecuted to the full extent of the law."
And finally, from Dave Cohen: "Seriously, what were you smoking when you wrote that column?"
I'm not willing to say Dave except to note that whatever it was, it was for medicinal purposes only.
Thanks for writing everyone.
Have a great weekend.
