Viewers to Ken: It's the union's fault
I said that Boeing was going no matter what.
I said it wasn't the machinist's union that was responsible for the airplane maker setting up shop in South Carolina.
Many of you said I am wrong, wrong, wrong.
Tony Mael writes: "There are consequences when unions have special laws that allow them to force companies to pay more for less. They are allowed to threaten people, try to take down companies via strike...and intentionally create a hostile...work environment."
James D. Miller: "Unions...exist...to get big wages and benefits for their workers...(They've) bargained up labors price (to where) manufacturers like Boeing can no longer compete in the world market."
Pat Gee: "You don't know squat about Boeing, Ken...Get it straight. The Boeing company is tired of putting up with the unions telling them how they run things."
Bill Malone: "The union members and their leaders have no one but themselves to blame for Boeing's decision...It's definitely a wake-up call."
And finally, from Walt L.: "Boeing taught all those mill workers to build airplanes, they sure as hell can teach a bunch of hillbillies to (do the same)."
Spoken like a true flatlander there Walt.
Thanks for writing everyone.
Have a great weekend.
