Viewers to Ken: Blame the girl

A still shot from the security video is shown.
I just don't see how people can blame a victim for being a victim.

But that's the case with people who think the 15-year-old girl beaten by a now-fired King County sheriff's deputy provoked the attack by being snotty and antagonistic.

I also attributed that public attitude to the fact the teen is a minority.

Blaine Shaffer writes: "Your comments (are) racially dividing and...not helpful to the community...Her color was not the issue. It was her behavior."

Patrick Patterson: "I don't condone the deputy's actions in that jail cell. I do, however, understand them...Blame the girl, her parents and the officer."

Richard Campbell: "If it wasn't for the fact she (had been arrested for suspicion of stealing a car) maybe she wouldn't have been in the situation she was."

Sean Heath: "Had the girl been brought up to show others respect, especially her elders, thing would have most likely turned out different."

And finally, from James Munn: I...assume that you never had to contend with a mouthy, snotty, little brat. Perhaps you should think about going into the priesthood."

Only if you promise to let me hear your confession James.

Thanks for writing everyone.

I hope you have a great weekend.
