The Schrammie: Wasting time at 10 mph
Time to grab some low-hanging fruit.
I mean, this "Schrammie" was so obvious it just about picked itself.
So if State Senator Mary Margaret Haugen and Rep. Tami Green would put down those scooter store brochures, I'd like them to come on down.
Tami and Mary Margaret are both pushing bills involving golf carts.
Mary Margaret is all for allowing golf carts to go zipping along on streets with low speed limits and Tami thinks it would be really cool if golf carts were allowed on bike paths and sidewalks.
We need goofy stuff like this raised in a short, 60-day legislative session.
After all, wouldn't we hate to see too much attention focused on such political minutia as budget gaps, new taxes, education or getting tough on drunk driving?
Hells bells, putting elderly people on the streets in golf carts because they may have issues driving cars makes all the sense in the world.
NOT!
So if Senator Mary Margaret and Rep. Tami would do us all the courtesy of taking a bow, I'd like them to know: This "Schrammie" is for you.
