Ken Schram: P.C. police running amok in Kirkland »Play Video
The P.C. police, disguised as an elementary school principal, a few teachers and an assortment of school officials, are running amok in Kirkland

Over the weekend, 4th, 5th and 6th graders at Robert Frost Elementary School put on a really big show called "Snow White in the Black Forest."

But the play was less than what some wanted thanks to the censoring efforts of the politically correct cast of characters mentioned a moment ago.

Seems the principal and her cohorts took issue with some elements of the production saying they "violated human dignity and promoted bullying."

Among stuff that was cut:

- The character named "Dimwitty," gone.

- A circular hand gesture indicating "crazy," gone.

- Dialogue that poked fun at some characters, gone.

I'm certain that in the minds of Kirkland educators, cutting up a children's classic in order to insulate kids from the big, bad world justifies their heavy-handed censorship.

In fact, I think the principal should have killed the play altogether and arranged to have copies of the book burned on the school playground.

But then, I've always been a little crazy, know what I mean?
