Schram: More on TSA, mayoral mess and Christmas in October
»Play Video
Some quick takes on a trio of issues that shouldn't pass without some additional attention and comment.
Let's begin with TSA.
A woman dying of leukemia says a security pat-down at Sea-Tac airport left her absolutely mortified.
Michelle Dunaj says TSA agents made her lift up her shirt and pulled back bandages to examine feeding tubes; forced open a bag of saline solution and denied her request to taken to a more private area.
TSA officials say security video they've examined contradict the woman's claims, but TSA won't show anyone else the video.
No pun intended, but that's not gonna fly.
TSA owes it to Michelle Dunaj and the public to release that video in order for everyone to see exactly what took place.
Next up - Pacific, Wash., Mayor Cy Sun.
This guy is a political train wreck.
Lawsuits abound, stemming from the mayor's firing of several city employees and from what he's said about some of those he's canned.
Pacific's city attorney says the claims could bankrupt the town.
And now we find out the mayor's been driving a car with Oregon license plates.
Here's hoping the State Patrol will delve into that little detail, which could result in a fine of more than $500.
Finally, a radio station in Yakima is playing nothing but Christmas music from now until Christmas.
The program director deserves to have his chestnuts roasting on an open fire.
Have a great weekend.

Ken, I love ya. Â Miss you on KOMO radio.
I don't have to agree with everything you say, and I certainly don't, but I love the way you say it.
Keep it up.
JUST as I suspected,,,,,Mr Schram is a dedicated soldier in the War on Christmas !!!
( chuckle !! )
Too bad KOMO will still be airing Ken Schram past Christmas.
Ken, I do your job for free, but I pick apart my topics with more eloquence and seasoned salty sprinklings onto more meaningful benevolent wounds worth deserving attention.
Seriously? Â You're griping about a radio station in the middle of nowhere playing Christmas music? Â Have you ever seen the Christmas music channel on your digital cable menu? Â If you don't like Christmas music, no one is holding a gun to your head and making you listen to it. Â It's called changing the station.
Ken;
Â
You are without question the most influential moron in Washington State.
You are the one whose "Chestnuts" should be roasted!
A program director in Central Washington, on an obscure radio station I'm sure NONE of us here in Western
Washington have ever heard, except when crossing the Columbia River, in Vantage had the courage to play
the most POSITIVE music of the year before the time YOU (the pedantic, simpering, bemoaning complaintant!)
would deem as polite, or timely!
That same program manager would have the GOOD taste to fire your useless butt LONG before you had the
opportunity to poison anyone else with your inane, empty as the universe OPINIONS!
Â
Sincerely;
Â
Jay R. from Woodinvile
Your position on these three incidents is a winner. TSA should be taken to that Yakima radio station so they could have their chestnuts roasted over an open fire. That mayor of Pacific should be used for fuel to roast the TSA. He has all but bankrupted a city with his crazy antics. That city is probably regretting his name by now. It would be nice if those suing would consider the position of the city and force them to toss that idiot and wave any monetary consideration to save it from having to disband. The TSA needs and should provide those taps to see just who is telling the truth and who is not. After having the TSA caught in some other shady acts, I fear they are in the poo again. As for the Xmas music. That station manger should be put in a sound proof room and fed Buck Owens for the next 10 years. Its bad enough now that they start the damn stuff before Thnksgiving. I have some from an Aussie that I like, but the FCC might have a heart attack if it got on the air. Not exactly for the kiddy hour mind you.Â
Really? What station in Yakima is playing Christmas music. Maybe they'd be interested in "This Christmas Day" by Patrick Alexander (available from all digital sites as well as www.patrickalexander.net). Tis the season, as they say. :-)
Cy Sun is the largest joke in Washington state (besides the governor) and is making a laughing stock not only of the town of Pacific, but the entire state. He is too egotistical, self-centered and narcissistic to understand the damage he has and continues to do.
"Michelle Dunaj says TSA agents made her lift up her shirt and pulled back bandages to examine feeding tubes; forced open a bag of saline solution and denied her request to taken to a more private area."
Â
For people that care, this is not the correct way to use a semi-colon. It should also read, "to be taken."
Komo news always devoid of facts, & truth that are actually pertinent to Washingtonians' understanding of the governments that effect our lives. The debate last night between McKenna & Inslee is quickly erased from Washington State medias. What do we get? Some frigid partisan hack like commie shram telling us a woman was molested in an airport by TSA & Pacifics mayor drives his wifes' car sometimes.
Â
Washingtonians don't care about their governments at all any more. You go through Boeing for example, those people do not participate in voting, or effecting how governments are run in any way that makes our lives better by citizen oversight. Why? Are Washingtonians distinctively ignorant & outright destructive unto their own freedoms by self destructive malice? Are we all idiots, devoid of the possibility of self government?
Â
Or is our media deliberately, devoid of facts & information needed to inform Washingtonians of the real life of their taxpayer funded works?
Â
Ken Shram is a communist propaganda expert. He will fill these pages with servitude to democrat party power sway, & tell us nothing about what they are actually doing.
Â
Washingtonians are not ignorant. We are all getting the worst possible thing for an American, disinformation about what effects our lives the most, our governments.
Â
I'm not saying that the right is any better because it's not. But if Washingtonians continue to not participate due to media induced public ignorance, we'll find ourselves at the bottom of the cliff.
Â
Ken Shram is a partisan hack, only capable of mindless dribble like the above. That Washingtonians put up with such damnation of our lives in unfathomable.
Â
Washingtonians do not vote by half. Those who do, are mostly ignorant of the things that they vote for. Ken Shram needs to be fired. & we need to initiate truth in medias, that is pertinent to self government & our now almost completely removed from us, freedoms. Quite frankly Ken, go to h-
Â
@Libertyinfinite  So you hate Ken but you keep reading his posts and feel obligated to dump on them? It's easy, go to another news site. Cry me a river.
@path_tech Freedom of speech also means people can say what you don't want to hear. You're suggesting censorship of those who disagree with you. You're part of the problem when it concerns the United States. Discord is just as important as agreement. Telling someone to shove off is very much what this person has described and you're the perfect example of what he's talking about.
Ken, I think you need to expand and do pet story's or something. This being grumpy all the time can be hard on you!
Now settle down with the TSA.. Put your terrorist minds in gear... If I really wanted to blow up a plane, that is the disguise I would use. Two bags of liquid explosives, and all the tubes needed to mix them.. and Kaboom no more airplane...
With that in mind, Those DOLTS should have taken her to a private pat down area...
I don't fault them for checking out everything that comes through, because the old saying is true... if there is a will, there is a way..
@Mr. H - before you take just the complaintant's side, let's see the video.
Â
If they video doesn't show what this woman claims happened, you wouldn't want to look like an idiot for claiming that they did something that never happened.
Â
If the video shows they did do what she claims, then she's got a case.
@FormerMarineSgt I would have said that, but being the fact that she doesn't have much longer to live, what does she have to lose? She's not suing them or anything (as far as I've heard), just trying to make it so others might not have the same experience as her. To be honest, for everyone's sake that has to go through security at the airport, I hope she's wrong, but with the way TSA has been working the last several years, I just don't know.Â
Â
I do find it peculiar that TSA won't just release the video to get it over with, if they truly have nothing to lose (besides a bad reputation). Â Just my 2 cents, hopefully they figure it all out either way.
@Rsills82 - The TSA probably has some legal requirements that prevent them from releasing the video. Privacy laws and all that.    I don't recall them ever releasing a tape in any of the controversial situations in the past either btw.
Â
That angle is just as likely, if not more so than any conspiracy to hide the truth.
Â
 @Mr. H http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=PiyTZxGDsm0&NR=1Â
@Mr. H Yeah I see no issue with them wanting to check her out, it's just the tact that was lacking was the real issue here, they could have been more discrete about it.Â
How's this for a solution. Put Cy Sun in line at airport security with the slowest and most obnoxious TSA employees, while forcing them all to listen to Christmas music.Â
Yes on all 3 Ken. However, it's the 3rd that really got my attention. Christmas music now? Who wants to hear that nonstop in the middle of October, especially with Halloween around the corner? Talk about the nightmare before Christmas! Yeah I can see how we're in the Christmas season when we still have bone dry conditions from still having a summer weather pattern.
Amazing how many new Federal police forces have been created/expanded since 9/11. Most to take away American's rights.
Â
One thing I wish Congress would do is take away the "National Holiday" title from Christmas since it's a religious holiday observed only by Christians. Maybe then Christians can reclaim what that holiday really means to them instead of all the "Holiday Season" fluff.
@Magic 8 Ball I'm not a Christian and I observe Christmas as a secular holiday.
@Magic 8 Ball Actually, I know quite a few atheists that celebrate a secular Christmas.  They appreciate the traditions of giving to others, spending time with family, etc.  And since Christians stole the day from the Pagans anyway, who cares?
I swear to God, no matter what the Topic, the Schram busters come out like a flock of seagulls, squawing and taking a big dump while flying overhead. Get a life, people.
@path_tech I believe that's pretty much what we're saying, too.
I didn't know that driving a car with Oregon plates was against the law Ken! We don't even know if that is his car. C'mon man!
@donner If he lives in Washington and his car is registered in Oregon, then yes, it's against the law. You pay way less for tabs in Oregon.
@citizen kane  @donner As well as the fact that they looked into the car, and that is his car (with his wife's name on it as well). Both of course, live in Washington State, regardless of having a house in Oregon. Not that I care either way, just pointing that out! ;)Â
@Jerome O'Neil  @citizen kane  @donner I think he was just hoping that since it was such a small city/town, nobody would notice. Unfortunately, everything that you have to do to gain foot in places like that, you also have to follow STATE and FEDERAL regulations. It's starting to look more like something you'd see on a Dukes of Hazard show than anything else..  YEEEEHAWWWW  lol.
@Rsills82  @citizen kane  @donner And the beauty is this is the guy that was gonna "clean up corruption" in city hall.
Â
Looks like all he did was replace it.
@Mr. H  @Rsills82  @citizen  @donner Well I think it's his wife that has a house in Oregon (Yet it's in both of their names), and both vehicles here in Pacific with Oregon plates have both their names too, but only his license is for Washington only.. Yet the registration paperwork for the vehicles in Oregon, says their house is in Pacific.. something odd going on indeed. Once again, people that are able to sift through the cracks of doing the right thing and get away with stuff. (For now).
@Rsills82 @citizen kane @donner
So they live in Washington, and are Oregon residents.. (legal status) This would be interesting... Which drivers license do they possess?Â
Then, how in the heck, did he get onto the ballot if he was an Oregon resident?
Seems to me this scum needs to be cleaned off...
I would bet, that if he resigned, the lawsuits would go away when those that were fired got their jobs back. (with back pay)
Â
I've never liked seeing Christmas sales/stuff before Thanksgiving, but I got a little bit of education when talking about it with a senior citizen in a checkout line once. She pointed out that for people like her with fixed incomes and 1 paycheck per month, having all the sales only in December means she can't spread her spending out over multiple paychecks. Something to think about. I still don't like it, but maybe I should chill...
@growupalready It really seems to be earlier and earlier all of the time, doesn't it? I have put up the Christmas decorations starting the day after Thanksgiving for years. It may seem a bit early to some, but I spent alot of time making them, it takes alot of time to put them up and I just want to have as much time as is reasonable to enjoy seeing them. I love the Holiday Season. I take advantage of sales all year to buy Christmas gifts. It is always a surprise when I wrap them, as I have usually forgotten what I have bought!Â
I am also a senior and I know for a fact that if this lady knows what she wants to get she can get these things during various sales that happen months before Christmas. You can also set aside some money each month for when that time comes that you want to shop. I'm with you, when Christmas starts before Halloween it really takes something away from the holiday. When I worked in retail and after dealing with Christmas for 2/3 months before the fact by the time it got here I was emotionally done with it.
Looks like nothing ACTUALLY interesting is going on, eh Ken?
I like Cy Sun... He's a rebel... granted without a cause... but a rebel nonetheless. TSA incident as the say show us the video chumps.... Satan Clause is always out in full force in October! Good day Ken! Ha! I am entitled to spell it out too!
It's July 5. Welcome to Christmas. I swear that's the retail mindset. Please, not until after Thanksgiving. Is that really too much to ask?
@responsible adult? Our company just started putting holiday stuff out last weekend.  And yes, people are buying it.  But I agree, anything before 10/1 is just too stinking early.  Of course, in regards to the retailers and the radio station: don't like it, don't go in the store or turn on that station.  It's not that difficult.
that radio station is nothing ken. Kmart's had their chit out since late August. Walmart's had theirs out since end of September.
@BlueJedi IKEA already has their Christmas stuff out. :-(
@Howard Beale  @BlueJedi I was going to head to Ikea this weekend, but maybe I'll take a pass. Don't really need to see Christmas stuff yet.
@BlueJedi We noticed Target already has stuff out now too, right next to the Halloween stuff! Â
Â
Â
I'm so glad I read this . . NOT!
"Finally, a radio station in Yakima is playing nothing but Christmas music from now until Christmas."
Â
Hey, if Rite Aid can effectively do the same by putting our their Christmas wares some 2-3 weeks ago...
NIce job Ken.
Give your paycheck back Ken.
