SEATTLE -- I feel their pain.
That’s because I felt the same way following the 2006 Super Bowl when the Seahawks suffered atrocious calls that cost them the game.
And back then there were no replacement refs to put the blame on.
So if Green Bay fans would quit crying in their cheese for a moment, I'd like them to come on down.
Yeah, Monday night's football game is difficult for Packer fans to accept.
Waa waa, Golden Tate should have been called for pass interference.
Waa waa, it was an interception not a touchdown.
Waa waa, the NFL and team owners are making a mockery of the game by putting replacement refs on the field.
Packer fans can serve lots of whine with their cheese but in the end it just makes them look like Seahawk fans looked in 2006 - bad losers.
Questionable calls are part of football.
They just become more pronounced when the ones making the calls shouldn't be on a professional football field.
Most of the country seems to feel the Seahawks didn't deserve the win they got on Monday, including the President of these here United States.
The chorus of whines may help the NFL get its act together but in the end, the Hawks are 2-1.

I am a diehard Packer fan and don't have problem with the call. Human error is a part of sports and in my opinion one of the things that make them great! I can accept the bad call. That is fine. What bothers me are the Seattle Seahawks themselves and the NFL. Thier blatant refusal to acknowledge the call is what makes me angry. From Golden tate,"I don't know what your talking about." to Pete Carroll. Thier pretending like he caught the ball is what bothers me. That and the NFL saying that the correct call was made when everybody not from Seattle know it was not. Don't piss on us and tell us it is raining Mr. Commisioner.
The ref's still owe the Viking fans a superbowl ring also from 72' what came of that NOTHING just what should happen here NOTHING quit the whining pack fans if you can not put up 13 points against Seattle you have a lot more issues than the seahawks LOL

Look folks, I don't know any NFL owner, coach, team or fan that won't take an ugly win over a pretty loss ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
What I'm concerned with is that the Seahawks' next couple of game will be called against them to 'set things right'. For that matter, I see the next couple of weeks in the NFL being a flag-fest as the refs reestablish their authority.

Two wrongs (i.e. Superbowl) don't make a right. Green Bay has every right to feel robbed.
Okay, where's this "SEAttlE" that the sign was referring? And what's "REFING"? To that woman and her cohorts: if you want to make a point with a sign, learning how to spell first would help. Now go get a job or to your work, instead of crying over a football game! Even though, I do think it was a bad call; and the most glaring one of many that night.
So according to your logic, Ken, what you're saying is that if you're at the grocery store, and the checker miscount your change, and gave you an extra $20, it would be OK for you to not say anything and keep the money. That's what is wrong with America today - there's little integrity and honesty any more.

Ken is talking about a game with strict and specific rules that are followed no matter who the judges are.You're talking about a real life situation where an individuals moral code is the issue. I might think it's wrong but if the person keeping the $20 doesn't think so it's OK in his mind. Equating a game of football to the integrity and honesty of any group of people is ludicrous.

@wynooheeman Around the world there was over TWO BILLION DOLLARS on that last call. More than the GNP of the state of Washington. Economic impacts like this certainly do have a place in real life. And again, maybe it affected some NFL peoples economic life.....
My Question is this. What if We had the Regular Ref's working and they made the same call the same way? The what? what would the gripe be then?
@wynooheeman Valid point. However same answer. The regular replay officials are the last line of credibility. They are expected to make the correct call. If they dont -- and its the last paly of ANY game - that also determines the outcome - we, as fans -- must ask WHY NOT?
Just a dicouraged football fan. Lots of bad calls on both sides throughout the game. However it came down to the last play. Both sides were suppossed to have equal chance and the fans , coaches , players expected that it would be decided on the field. Also expected there would be a fair decision if needed,  by any ref, especially as the football world watched this last play. However, an indecisive call that was totally bogus, was then left up to NFL OFFICIALS in a replay booth in NEW YORK !! The final decision and outcome could have been correct if these replay officials  had made the right and proper call instead of covering up and shouting inconclusive. All football fans should be outragged and asking NFL executives  Why did these experienced NFL replay officials NOT do the right thing?...and overturn the bad/ wrong call??.....two wrongs do not make it right.....probably twenty in this game but penalties and missed calls are not reviewable lol...but all touchdowns are.... either way it was in the hands of the people that are supposed to hold the line of credibility AND TRUST AND FAITH OF FANS, not to render a decision that the NFL waqnts or needs.... or is the old WWE ? Whatever team(s) you cheer for i certainly hope this does not happen to your team when the NFL decides it needs a game to go the other way .....
 @big football fan You ignore the fact that GB's touchdown came on a drive kept alive by a bad call - not the last play of the game, but still crucial.  Bottom line, GB had their chances and they blew them.  Need me to name them... 8 sacks in the first half, inability to turn one of their three field goals into a TD, inability to make the two point conversion, etc. Ken was right.  Hawks had a bad call against them in the superbowl too, but they likewise failed to make plays that would have made it a moot point.

Last chance for everyone including the NFL. to get this one right and everyone can be disgusted with penalty calls (not reviewable) and missed calls (also not reviewable). Instead, it goes to the booth in NEW YORK where we hope there is some credibility and they continue the cover up by claiming inconclusive replay. Even friends that dont know football said that was an interception. However the NFL top brass knows the replacements already cause controversy by their ineptness. so everyone would blame the outcome on them... and its working.... despite the fact that the LEAGUE OFFICE could have made it right by overturning the call.... doesnt that make you as a fan of football curious enough to just ask WHY NOT ??
 @big football fan Because no football games are won or lost on one play. I don't see how you can pick one play out when there were other plays that affected the outcome as well. It is a 60 minute game, if you are going to look at one play you have to look at all the plays. You may as well go back and rewrite the history book in all sports that have been affected by questionable calls. The last play is just like all the other plays in that game. Finished.
Ken,...I just can never ever agree with you simply because I can't. It is against my religion. So while, as a Seahawk fan, I might concur with most of what you have said, I have still managed to find away to keep the flame alive.

I don't give a Rat's whatever!!! The Seahawks were declared the winners. Done!!!! The number of missed/wrong calls in the game was par for the course, as far as I am concerned because it happens to every team every darn football season......now that tells me that the REAL refs are no better. They make many mistakes. Why is this IF IT REALLY IS A MISTAKE, any different? No difference to me. Get on with it. There are plenty of games left in this season and because of the WHINING, I will now be rooting for any team that plays Green Bay, even though it wasn't their fault; but, I cannot help but think that because it was AARON ROGERS, MVP (which the television announcers found it necessary to tell me every half hour or so), that is probably the BIGGEST INSULT...NOT the play that ended the game. GO SEAHAWKS!!!!  AND BY THE WAY, I STOPPED WHINING ABOUT THE SUPERBOWL FIASCO about 1 day after the game.  ONWARD!!!!!!

If you don't want the game to be decided by officials, make sure you're winning by enough so that it doesn't matter.

I keep hearing people question the integrity of Seahawks coaches, players, and fans. What a bunch of hypocrisy. I call into question the character & integrity of every single person or entitiy who attempts to belittle the Seahawks. Want to win a game? Play 4 Quarters and not 58 seconds. Want to get an interception? Come down with both feet inbounds and then be the guy who gets off the ground with the ball in your hands. Want to break up a catch? Bat the ball away instead of going for the glory catch. Want to keep your QB from face planting in the turf? Protect him instead of planning Twitter tirades in your head.  Karma? Redemption? No, I'll go with the right call being made.Â
Forget all the bad calls, its no surprise that scabs don't know how to do the jobs their filling.  What galls this Packer fan is the total lack of class demonstrated by Pete Carroll in suggesting it was a "good call" and digging himself in even deeper on the radio the day after. Karma will haunt the Seahawks simply because they hired a cheating (see USC program) loser as their coach.
 @Bart Star Bart Star, you're the most ignorant NFL fan I've ever read. Anytime there is a controversial call, the Coach and the Player "toe the company line". Go look up the nytimes.com article from Dec 1998 about the Jets "win" over the Seahawks and the Phantom Touchdown. Testeverde and Parcells are both on record saying essentially the same thing that Tate and Carrol are saying.
 @the Agreed, the Jets win knocked Seattle out of the playoffs with an 8-8 record and probably cost Erickson his job. I"m sure Testeverde and Parcells would have said something different had they know that, not a chance.

I'd be complaining to but at least the Packers have week 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ,9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 with a bye week in there somewhere. If the Packers would have won that game I'd sit here and say we got screwed by the refs. Both teams got screwed in that game but only the last 10 seconds is anything anyone will talk about. Not the fact that the Packers got smashed in the mouth by our defense.Â
It's funny that such a majority are just positive that Golden Tate didn't have simultaneous possession of that ball. Well, a low angle end zone video exclusive on q13fox may make you think differently. In that angle it looks like Tate has the best grip on the ball and Jennings is trying to take it away from him.
But no "Whaaa, Green Bay's only TD came off of a blown pass interference call? Â How is this possible!? Â

GB's Aaron Rogers god only scoring 12 points? Would it have even been that much if Seattle pass rushers were'nt held on almost every down? Get over it GB. See Vinnie Testeverde circa 1998 and his 1 yard short reach TD that cost Seattle the playoff's, with a regular staff of field cops. No sympathy here, sorry.

I love both teams and I have listen to Hawks fans, as well as myself, still complain today about Superbowl vs. the Steelers. Furthermore, the more I see that replay the more I think it was actually the right call. He can have the ball all he wants in the air. It's not a pick until he is on the ground with possession which by that time Tate had his hands on the ball as well and a tie catch goes to the receiver.

 @SeaPack While I agree with your sentiment, what I disagree with is only complaining about the call at the end of the game. Let's review them all (against both teams) and say it was horrible. Did the last call decide the game? You bet! But, the Seahawks wouldn't have needed a touchdown IF the correct calls would have been made on GB's only TD drive. Now, one could argue who would have won the game otherwise, but her sign should read "without the fans reffing, GB 9, SEA 10" (or GB 9, SEA 7 if you prefer). Point is, we have to look at the whole picture.
Was the call on the TD terrible? Absolutely. But there were bad calls all game long. The Packers should of never scored a touchdown, the pass interference against Chancellor was awful. The non-calls on holding for the Packers in the second half were terrible(and Green Bay's O-line grossly held on nearly every play). How does Clemmons getting mugged every time he rushed the QB not called the entire 2nd half? It's not like we didn't realize the refs were over their heads before the game even started, it's all that they talked about PRE-game.
