Idaho snowmobiler, 21, killed in avalanche
File photo By Associated PressIDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Officials say a snowmobiler is dead after getting caught in an avalanche on Mount Jefferson in southwestern Montana. Authorities with Idaho's Fremont County say they responded to the scene in Montana's Beaverhead County and located the victim, but could not resuscitate him. Beaverhead County Coroner Ron Briggs identified him as 21-year-old Joshua J. Jenkins of Idaho Falls. Idaho officials went to the scene because access to the mountain is on the Idaho side of the border. Briggs says Jenkins was with two companions and they were not caught in the avalanche, which happened around noon. |
