Bumbershoot, other events expected to cause traffic mayhem

There is plenty to do in Seattle this weekend, and because of that there will be plenty of ways to get stuck in traffic.

Friday starts out with a three-day PAX Expo gamer convention at the Washington State Convention center, with 20,000 people expected to attend. Bumbershoot Festival, another three-day event, offers music, art, food and festivies to no less than 50,000 people each day. CenturyLink Field and Safeco Field will be crowded with Husky and Mariner fans alike as each team battles the Eagles and Red Sox.

SDOT urges motorists to try public transportation to help reduce congestion, along with lessening air pollution. Metro Transit, Sounder commuter train, Link light rail car, and of course, walking or biking, are all great options to get you where you need to go.
