Deadly Crash In Kent

KENT, Wash. -- A 79-year-old Kent man who witnesses say was running across a five-lane road was fatally struck by an SUV early Monday.

Officials said the man was wearing dark clothes and was not in a crosswalk when he was hit about 5:45 a.m. in the 14400 block of SE 272nd Street.

Medics performed CPR at the scene but were unable to revive the man. His name has not been released.

The driver that hit the man stopped and traffic was reduced to one lane in each direction while police collected evidence.
