The year was 1959 and a singing trio from Olympia had a national hit that landed them on Dick Clark's American Bandstand.
The song was Come Softly To Me...
Clark died Wednesday at age 82, suffering a massive heart attack after a medical procedure. He had had a debilitating stroke in 2004 and had to learn to walk and talk again.
