Happy Together Tour

Happy Together Tour
Howard Kaylan of the Turtles

Note to fans of 60's and 70's rock.  This is one of the best concerts of the year.

Happy Together features The Turtles(Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman), Gary Lewis, Mitch Ryder, Mark Farner(formerly of Grand Funk Railroad) and Chuck Negron(formerly of Three Dog Night).

Combined these guys sold more than a billion records(or something close to that).

Each star comes out and does a segment of the show, maybe about 20 to 30 minutes.

Then it just keeps moving on.

It starts with Gary Lewis bringing back his monster hits from the mid 60's.  Remember "This Diamond Ring?"  Then Mitch Ryder blasts on stage singing "Devil with the Blue Dress."  Mark Farner is electric on stage with a hot, hard rock guitar and great vocals on "Locomotion" and his other huge hits.  Chuck Negron, who sang most of the leads on all those Three Dog Night hits does a fantastic job.  One is the Loneliest Number and The Road To Shambala are a couple.  Remember those?  Then to top it all off, the Turtles pop out of their shells and light up the stage.
Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman not only still have great pipes, they're really funny as well.
To back it all up, the Turtle's band with Godfrey Townsend on lead guitar does a masterful job of switching sounds between each vocalist, recreating the sound you remember on those scratchy old 45's.

If Happy Together comes anywhere near you this summer, grab a ticket.
