The snow and cold has homeless shelters busy

The cold makes an already difficult situation even harder for people who have no place to escape the cold.

That has homeless shelters scrambling to find space and supplies to help keep people warm.

The cold makes an already difficult situation even harder for people who have no place to escape the cold.

That has homeless shelters scrambling to find space and supplies to help keep people warm.

One of them is Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, which is also sending volunteers out in its "Search and Rescue Van" with supplies, like blankets, clothing, food and warm drinks, as well as an invitation to come back to the shelter for a warm place to sleep.

The Mission is always in need of supplies, and there are a couple of ways you can help.

You can bring donations to several of the Mission's drop off locations.

You can make a donation through the website:  http://www.ugm.org/

Or you can buy an item on its Amazon.com Wish List:  http://www.amazon.com/wishlist/297BRLZ186IIY/ref=sr_1_1_acs_wl_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326851007&sr=8-1-acs

If you know of a person who may need some relief from the cold, you can go here to find a homeless shelter near you, and then pass that information on to them:
