Concert for Amina Bowman

Concert for Amina Bowman

As Amina Bowman's family marks her 9th birthday today, one of the things they've expressed their thanks for is how the Bremerton community has come together to raise money to help with her medical costs.

There are several more fundraisers planned for this week, including Amina's Purple Comedy Night, Tuesday, March 20th at 7:00 PM at Arena Sports Bar and Grille (tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com), and a car wash this Saturday, March 24th from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the East Bremerton AutoZone on Wheaton Way.

The big one, however, is Saturday night from 6:30-9:30 PM, when Bremerton Parks & Recreation and Local Musicians will help sponsor a Benefit Concert for Amina Bowman. The concert will take place at the Sheridan Park Center in East Bremerton at 680 Lebo Blvd.

Opening the concert with two songs will be The Stodden Sisters.  Three of the girls currently attend Armin Jahr Elementary and are friends of Amina.  They'll be joined by local musicians The Warren Brothers Band, Kim Enloe and Michael Anthony Pratt.  Local teen band CAMPSITE 18 will follow.  CAMPSITE 18 band members include brothers Tyler Enloe (guitar) and Jonathan Enloe (drums), Ton Rich (Bass) and Jade Jarvis (Lead Vocals).  All boys are students in the Bremerton School District.  Suggested donation is $5 per person.

All proceeds from the benefit go to the Bowman family for ongoing medical expenses.  Donations can be made to the Amina Bowman Victims Trust at any Bank of America branch.
