We all know Seattle’s restaurant scene offers just about any cuisine one could hope for. Now your every culinary craving can be delivered right to your doorstep with the help of the new delivery service BiteSquad. Spicy Tuna Roll? Check. Brisket? Check. Schnitzel? Check. Yebeg Tibs? (Look it up!) Check.
BiteSquad launched in Seattle in March, and it currently works with over 70 local restaurants including Von Trapp’s, Roxy’s Diner, and Belltown Pub, just to name a few. The days of being limited to pizza and Chinese take-out deliveries are over.
The BiteSquad website is a one-stop portal to many of your favorite menus in town. The ordering process is easy:
- Choose the restaurant that gets your stomach growling.
- Choose your favorite menu items.
- Set your delivery or pickup time.
- Watch the status of your order in real-time. You can track the cooking process, the quality check, and the GPS location of your delivery driver. They even send you a text when the driver arrives at your stoop.
- Nosh on your favorite restaurant meal from the comfort of home.
Delivery cars are marked with BiteSquad logos and the drivers are uniformed, so there’s no mistaking when all that delicousness has arrived.
Prefer your french fries extra crispy? Want the sauce on the side? BiteSquad has a feature that allows you to make special notations and requests about your order to make sure your meal is cooked just right. The website also offers a live chat feature in case you have any questions about the process.
Sound too good to be true? Well, as you might expect, all this convenience comes at a price. There are no markups on any of the actual menu items, but BiteSquad does charge a delivery fee starting at $3.99. The fee increases depending on the location of the restaurant in relation to where you live. Expect to pay an average of $5.00. Tax and tips are separate. The service also sets a delivery minimum amount for each restaurant starting at $15.
Right now, BiteSquad is offering a Groupon for new customers: $9 for $30 worth of delivered food. Delivery fees, tax and tip can not be put toward the Groupon amount.
Get eating, Seattle!
