Open & Shut: This week in restaurant openings and closings

The Bear and the Bee. Any day now, the owners of The Rabbit Hole, Bathtub Gin and Lava Lounge will be bringing us The Bear and the Bee, Eater Seattle reports. Get ready for humongous sandwiches made on Grand Central Bakery bread.

Serious Pie. The incredibly successful and delicious Tom Douglas restaurant is opening a third location in Capitol Hill, according to CHS. Douglas' two other locations are currently in Belltown and South Lake Union.

Mioposto. Seattle Met brings us the exciting news that Mioposto is opening a second location in Ravenna, in June. Previously just in Mt. Baker, owner Jenny Hardy says the menu will be pretty much the same - just with slight aesthetic differences (like 14 foot ceilings).

Comet Tavern. Hoorah! The Comet re-opened this week after being temporarily shut down in October to clean up the space. Expect new bathroom and booths, while the rest of the interior stays as is.

Szmania's Restaurant. This family-owned eatery in Magnolia is being sold to one of its cooks, Michael Rogozinski (formerly of The Pink Door), reports the Times. Ludger Szmania and his wife Julie opened the shop in 1990, and have owned it ever since. They're now moving to operate Warm Spring Inn & Winery in Wenatchee.

Dinette. While temporarily closed and looking for a new home, the crew of this restaurant will be hosting a 'pop-up bar' of sorts on April 6, at Solo Bar. Seattle Weekly tells us to RSVP to if you want to join.

Olivar. This small Spanish-influenced bistro in Capitol Hill is saying goodbye, says CHS. In its place, Restaurant Marron will be serving up modern American cuisine by the end of spring.

Piecora's Pizza. The popular Capitol Hill pizza spot is closing its doors forever on April 15. A current employee tells us that the owners want to retire, and the timing is just right. Sad day for all the sports teams who have their end of the seasons parties there!
