Open & Shut: This Week In Restaurant Openings And Closings

Great week for the Seattle restaurant scene - no closings to report!

Top Pot Doughnuts. Everyone’s favorite doughnut shop is opening a new cafe at 888 Western Ave (right above Post Alley). Situated perfectly next to the pedestrian overpass and ferry terminal, we have a feeling commuters’ breakfasts just got a lot sweeter.

Red Cow. Red Cow opened this Monday, Eater Seattle reports. Located in the old Restaurant Bea in Madrona, Red Cow takes a step away from the pasta-oriented menus we're used to seeing from Stowell and instead focuses on steak frites.

Quality Athletics. Josh Henderson, of Ballard Skillet Diner, Hollywood Tavern and Cone & Steiner fame, has announced via Eater Seattle that his newest project will be a Pioneer Square sports bar called Quality Athletics. Set to open in time for football (September 2014), there is even word on the street there might be an in-house rotisserie for the occasional pig roast.

Cassis. West Seattle Blog reports that the brand new French restaurant will open on Alki Feb. 19! Check out their menu which includes mussels mariniere, duck confit, and poulet roti. Cassis is a reincarnation of a Capitol Hill joint proprietor Jef Fike ran a decade ago.
