There's no doubt about it, when it comes to the world of handbag designers Rebecca Minkoff is a household name. Her classic yet trendy styles have graced the shoulders of everyone from Jessica Alba and Reese Witherspoon, to fashion bloggers around the world.
Once again Minkoff is introducing an all new collection for spring. She was at downtown Seattle's Nordstrom store from 1:30 to 2:30pm today answering questions, taking pictures, signing merchandise and showing her new handbag and shoe collections.
If you weren't able to make it to the event, don't worry! We were able to ask Minkoff a few questions to keep you in the know. First off, we were dying to know her personal go-to style.
"Mixing and matching is always my go-to," she said. "Edgy and feminine is the combination I go for every day."
Then it comes as no surprise that when we asked her who she designed for, the "Rebecca Minkoff lady", she answered that her consumer is "refined, with an inner rebel; feminine, with a tom-boy sensibility and effortless, with a touch of glamour."
How does that reflect in her new spring 2014 collection?
"I was inspired by an eye-catching array of vibrant florals, rich textures, embroidery and intricate cutwork," said Minkoff.
Which explains her nod to traditional Latin American textiles, like sporty separates with a tropic twist.
"Saturated prints star fiery hues, like magenta and tangerine, which stand out against a cool crew of aloe, shell and chalk white," she said.
Of course, there's one handbag that is sure to be the "it" bag of the season, the Perry Mini Tote! That's straight style tip from Rebecca Minkoff herself.
A big thanks to Rebecca Minkoff for taking the time to answer our questions. Tweet us @seattlerefined with your favorite pieces from the collections.
