Ever wanted to spend an evening with Will Ferrell? The comedy icon is coming to Seattle for a one-night event that’s sure to make you laugh - and, yes, it might even tug at your heartstrings a little, too!
The former Saturday Night Live cast member and Anchorman star will take the stage at Meany Hall on the University of Washington Campus on Friday, September 19th for an all-ages show to raise money for his favorite charity, Cancer for College.
Launched by Ferrell’s good friend and two-time cancer survivor Craig Pollard, Cancer for College provides college scholarships to cancer survivors. Proceeds from the Seattle event will specifically fund scholarships for cancer survivors who either attend school in the Pacific Northwest or grew up here.
In true Will Ferrell form, the evening is billed as “Approximately 90 Minutes With Will Ferrell and Some Other People.”
Our favorite man-sized elf will spend the evening sharing stories from his career in an interactive dual interview with Pollard. You can expect to see photos and video clips with a dose of audience participation... but let’s be honest, you never quite know what you’re going to get when you unleash comedy genius on stage for 90 minutes.
“I’m going to Seattle? Whoever booked this is so fired,” said Ferrell. “I guess we will show up, do some stuff, talk about things, maybe work in a joke or two. Apparently it’s for charity, and we will be sending some cancer survivors to college, so I’m happy to be there, but as for you people buying tickets to this show, there is no telling what you are going to get. It could be brilliant or I may just stare back at the audience for 90 minutes. I guess you will have to show up to see what happens.”
And that’s why we love him!
Tickets are on sale at www.cancerforcollege.org. Prices range from $75 to $500 for VIP seats.
