'Don Quixote', 'Roméo et Juliette' coming to Pacific Northwest Ballet

The Pacific Northwest Ballet announced its 2014-2015 season today, which will feature George Balanchine’s Jewels; Alexei Ratmansky’s Don Quixote, and Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Roméo et Juliette.

This season is also the last that Kent Stowell and Maurice Sendak's Nutcracker will be performed; the end of a 30-year, extremely successful run. A new production of this Christmas classic by George Balanchine, with sets and costumes by Ian Falconer, will be unveiled in 2015.

PNB cites ticket sales and the length of the Stowell/Sendak production's tenure as reasons why they decided it was time for a change.

The ballet's 42nd season will return September 2014 and run through June 2015. Tickets are on sale to the public May 19th, but the box office is open now for renewals for current subscribers.
