Spa staycation: The best day spas in Seattle

A trip to a day spa is one of the quickest ways you can unplug, relax and truly recharge. For your next staycation, pamper yourself and unwind at one of the best day spas in the Seattle area. Don't forget to turn off those phones!

Ladywell Spa
The newest addition to the spa community, this woman-owned business offers relaxation rooms and pools in the Greenwood neighborhood. Beyond whirlpools and a steam room they also have two sauna options: the traditional dry cedar sauna and a pink Himalayan salt sauna which will warm your core and help you sweat out toxins. Their spacious relaxation and stretching room offers a swinging chair I loved curling up in with a cup of tea (provided to all visitors)- making me feel a million miles away from the rest of the world. I highly recommend their sugar scrub and rinse during your visit (book ahead).

Olympus Spa
While just outside of Seattle (in Lynnwood and Tacoma) this large Korean spa offers the most heated room options of any of the spas. Listen to the sounds of ocean waves as you drift off in the Sand Room, cool off in the chill room, or take in the mud and jade room, salt room, charcoal room and more. Each room's properties boast different healing benefits such as toxin release, promote circulation and beyond. Be sure to plan your visit when you're hungry - their simple Korean cafe offers delicious bibimbap and other Korean dishes to satisfy the appetite.

Banya 5
Fellas, this one is for you! This co-ed (swimsuits required) day spa in South Lake Union provides a spa option for both men and women to relax together. This Russian spa offers a Parilka (sauna), Steam Room and three pools. For an invigorating experience, rotate between the hot rooms or pools and the Cold Plunge pool, which allows you to fully submerge your body. Banya 5 also offers a salt water tepid pool (not offered at the other spas) which proves a great alternative between the hot and cold therapies (or just a cooler option for those of us who aren't brave enough to experience the cold plunge). This spa is the priciest on the list, but the only one both men and women can attend together. Feeling peckish after your visit? Visit the Venik Lounge next door for a bite and to try one of their rotating organic house-infused vodkas.

HotHouse Spa
This little spa offers a cheaper rate than the other day spas, though you'll miss the benefit of having multiple pools, a cold plunge or a relaxation room to enjoy between therapies. HotHouse is good for those who live in Capitol Hill or want to save a few bucks.

Splurge on your Staycation:
All of these day spas offer additional services such as massages, wraps and body scrubs. Add one on to make your experience take you farther away from your day-to-day. For an extra special staycation, book a hotel night to add an extra layer of pampering to your experience.

Save on your Staycation:
Set out your coziest pjs or robe at home to curl up in after you return from the spa. Resist the urge to check email or your phone and let the relaxation in your body linger as you curl up with a good book and pot of tea.

Flexible on time? Check out each spa's websites to find out early bird discounts. Olympus and Banya 5 also offer 50% off on your birthday.
