Report: UW's Locker to visit New England Patriots
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Could former UW quarterback Jake Locker be the eventual successor to Tom Brady in New England?
James Walker of ESPN.com, quoting sources, says the Patriots are hosting a two-day visit Tuesday and Wednesday with Locker, who is projected to be a mid-to-late first round pick.
New England has the No. 17 and No. 28 picks in the draft, and Walker says it could afford them the luxury of filling an immediate need as well as potentially drafting a highly rated quarterback in the first round to groom behind Brady.
Brady is signed through 2014. Locker threw for 2,265 yards and 17 touchdowns last season and led the Huskies to a winning record and their first bowl game victory since 2002.
