A talking, cookie-loving buffalo? It's just the new M's commercials

SEATTLE -- It's a day a lot of fans look forward to in spring training -- no, not trying to figure out who is wearing jersey number 83, but the annual release of the season's Seattle Mariners commercials.
This year's lot features cookie whiz Brendan Ryan chatting with a talking buffalo, Felix Hernandez pitching his new hot sauces, Dustin Ackley making sure his fans are taken care of, and one die hard fan who, if you ask his wife, might be taking his fandom a bit too far.
Overall, nine players and manager Eric Wedge make appearances.

@LewisSports My fav is the Hot Sauce one with Felix.
@calkid357 The hot sauce and the talking buffalo ads are my favorites. :)
@LewisSports I do miss the Edgar ones..be nice if they could throw in a couple retro commercials.
@LewisSports Light bat commercial: tinyurl.com\/ckf5reax2v
@LewisSports Oh my..I had forgot about the Eagle hardware commercial. Wonder if it's on youtube. I think it is time to do a little research!
@calkid357 That's a great idea! "Geoduck" and "It's a light bat" (actually an Eagle Hardware commercial) are two of my all-time favorites.

Hey KOMO- Why not give reference to the production company who shot these?
I'm sure that this was exactly Doubleday's vision for the game back in the day. The Mariners can gauge every year the brain-deadedness of supplicant fans by tossing out these little trial balloons so that they can pinpoint how little strategy will be required to concoct explanations and excuses for when the team stinks up the AL West and is out of playoff contention by April 20.
Most of these are rather disappointing this time around, but I do like the self-digs they did about having a winning season, especially with "One Wish!" Â I also liked "Hottest Thing in Town," but other than that, meh.
Definitely laughed at a few of those! For some reason, I'm always surprised when the Mariner's commercials are actually funny.Â
Unfortunately for the last 10 years the commercials have been better and more entertaining than the teamÂ
Good thing KOMO is on top of the latest, hard-hitting news stories . . .
In my book nothing will ever top Edgar's Light Bat. I loved that one.
@Seattlesound2012Â Heh, I do miss Edgar in the commercials!!! Â He was truly wonderful!
@komonews I won't watch, it's more so depressing. Unless the commercials are highlights of other teams
@dw_vinton @komonews I laughed out loud at that, thank you! haha! :)Â
Hillarious, especially the buffalo and the hot sauce!
