PORTLAND, Ore. - That Game 6 buzzer-beater to close out the series against the Houston Rockets on Friday was a long time coming for the Blazers fans who've been there for the good, the bad ... and the ugly.
"Even the very thin ... the abysmal (years)," life-long fan Sarah Drew said on Saturday.
She was shopping for new gear with her 5-year-old son Parker, who's new to the Blazers bandwagon. So are some other fans who got hooked by this team - one player in particular.
"Damian Lillard. I love him so much," Mykalla Hayes said as she eyed a new Lillard T-shirt.
For fans like Drew who have lived through the bleak years, Friday night's win felt like justice for generations of fans.
"We were shocked and amazed," she said. "You could not get any better than less than a second buzzer-beater. It was just a miracle waitng to happen."
Retailers like Fred Meyer told KATU the victory and another series mean an "absolutely huge bump in sales."
More gear is on order and on its way to Portland to keep up with fan demand.
