Snowmobiler in critical condition after X Games crash

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Snowmobiler Caleb Moore remains in critical condition after a dramatic crash at the Winter X Games in Aspen.
A publicist for the family reissued a statement Tuesday thanking fans, friends and family for their support and asked for continued prayers.
The 25-year-old was performing a flip Thursday when he clipped the top of a jump and went over the handlebars. The snowmobile rolled over him, but he walked off the course with help and went to a hospital with a concussion.
While there, he developed bleeding around his heart and was flown to Grand Junction for surgery Friday. His family said Sunday that Moore then had a secondary complication involving his brain. They didn't provide details.
Moore's younger brother, Colten, also crashed in the competition and suffered a separated pelvis.

Remind me again why the cops hand out citations for not wearing a seatbelt or a motorcycle helmet. Â If people really want to kill themselves, they can just participate in the X games.
makes for a good show people don't go for boring event they want to see wreaks blood and guts.
Yikes, both brothers crashed with serious injury? I hope their both going to be ok. I feel HORRIBLE for their mother. I couldn't imagine if those were my boys!
I don't see why it matters that he was doing something that was dangerous, all that matters is that he's in critical condition after getting hurt, he deserves everyones well wishes. If it were a football player that this article about there would be a ton of "get well soons!!" posted all over the cooments... Caleb and his brother are incredibly talented and I hope that they both heal fast.

Â
I find it hard to feel sorry for people that do stunts like this and get hurt.
@Exiled_Patriot I feel sorry for their mom.
So? What is the news?
No one can say this wasn't self-induced.
Ban snowmobiles as they are too dangerous! / sarcasm off
@gastoys stupidity switch stuck in "on" position, regrettably...
Hopefully he pulls through aright... it is the XGames but it should not be such a drive to make it the death games... entertaining yes but you push the envelope you get bit sometimes... still I wish him a quick recovery and hope him and his brother both pull through!
I really do feel sorry for the guy but you have to wonder if they fully understood the risks. Anyone who does this has to expect a crash like this at some point.
@mstipton They understand the risks better than anyone else.
Why would anyone want to turn flips on a snowmobile or a motorcycle is beyond me.
@Hehateme Then Why did man go to the moon??? To prove it could be done. Remember Kennedys' speech about going to the moon??  "We Choose  to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things. Not because they are easy , but because they are hard".Â
It's the same theory.Â
@Seahawker @Hehateme...yeah, landing on the FREAKING MOON is the same as doing a flip on a snowmobile. Read my name.
@ReallyRUSerious  @Seahawker No, they aren't. The principle is though. The idea is that man has always been fascinated with doing what "can't be done", regardless of the task at hand.
@Hehateme Same here. The learning curve is, obviously painful.
@TheBronze  @Hehateme They practice in "foam pits" while learning the technique.Â
