SEATTLE - While football fans clamor over playoff tickets, baseball fans are prepping for spring.

Spring Training tickets for the Seattle Mariners went on sale Saturday morning at 8 a.m. for games that'll be played in Peoria, Arizona.

The Peoria Sports Complex is the spring training and player development home of the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres.

The Mariners had a 2013 payroll of just over $91 million, ranking 19th among the 30 MLB teams. But the Mariners are already off to a fast start spending for 2014, agreeing in December to a 10 year, $240 million contract for Robinson Cano. They've also agreed to contracts with free agents Corey Hart and Willie Bloomquist, and a $1 million, one-year contract for outfielder Franklin Gutierrez.

Lloyd McClendon was hired as manager of the Seattle Mariners in November, taking over a rebuilding job that Eric Wedge walked away from.

Seattle finished 71-91 last year and went a 12th straight season without the making the playoffs.

Tickets can be bought online, on the phone, and at the Peoria box office.
