Mariners call up reliever Stephen Pryor from Rainiers

CHICAGO (AP) - The Seattle Mariners have selected Stephen Pryor from Triple-A Tacoma, giving the right-handed reliever a chance at the majors after two dominating stops in the minors this season.
Seattle made the expected move official on Friday before opening a series with the White Sox.
The Mariners optioned reliever Steve Delabar to Tacoma following Wednesday's game in Texas, and transferred left-hander George Sherrill to the 60-day disabled list Friday to clear a 40-man roster spot for Pryor. Sherrill is recovering from left elbow surgery.
Pryor has been dynamic in the minors. In 28 innings for Double-A Jackson and Tacoma, Pryor has allowed two earned runs and struck out 39. He has not allowed an earned run in his last 27 innings pitched in the minors.
