Source: Surgery reveals damage to RG3's ACL

WASHINGTON (AP) - A person familiar with the situation says Robert Griffin III's surgery is over, with repairs made to two knee ligaments.
The Washington Redskins quarterback had surgery Wednesday morning on a torn lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. The person said the procedure also repaired damage found in Griffin's ACL.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Redskins had not made an announcement about the latest details surrounding the rookie quarterback's injury.
Griffin sprained the LCL last month and reinjured the knee in Sunday's playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He also tore the ACL in the same knee while playing for Baylor in 2009.
The person did not give an immediate assessment of Griffin's potential recovery time.

thank god he got a guarantee for 20 mill or so. They ruined his career.
Hope he gets 100%. I am an AVID Seahawker, but RGIII is great for the NFL
I hoe he gets better.
@sirgavin7 Never lose hoe.
I hoe too
That was a short career.
 @Throbbinhood Tell that to Vikings RB Adrian Peterson. One year after major ACL surgery and he is a few yards shy of setting a new record.
 @JeepRex  @Throbbinhood Yeah, well this is RG3's second ACL tear in less than four years. He's not going to last long if he runs the way he does on a crappy field.
@JeepRex Know that, and that is a complete rarity. You know that, too...Â
Here's hoping for a full and quick recovery. I'm glad we won that game but not so much at the expense of such a talented player with so much heart.
Shanahan should be fired for leaving him in past the first quarter.
Maybe they will be compelled to do something now about that dump they call a football stadium before the Seahawks have to play there again.
 @Ankle Biter Its Football, not golf. You play on any surface, in any weather. The field conditions had nothing to do with his knee injury.
 @JeepRex  @Ankle Biter You can't prove or disproce the field had anything to do with RG3's injury, However, having two players tear their ACL in the same game is rare. Ask our placekicker how he got hurt and ask his thoughts on the FedEx Field grass.
 @StringerJoe  Placekicker???? Give ME a break.........
@JeepRex @Ankle Biter
 @Pj Don't forget that Adrian Peterson torn his knee up at FedEx field too. Yea..players love that place.
 @Pj Agreed 3 injured players 2 out for the year and there was NO CONTACT on ANY of them when they were injured......
The field conditions had everything to do with his injury...ask Clemons and Hauschka how they were injured? That field was a joke and has no business in the NFL.
