Columbia River's Bjornstad joins WSU hoopsBy Associated Press
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Two-time All-State center Steven Bjornstad of Vancouver's Columbia River High School is joining Washington State's basketball team.
Cougars coach Ken Bone announced Thursday the 6-foot-10 Bjornstad signed a financial aid agreement with WSU. Bone said the two-time Class 3A All-State player adds depth to a position of need for the Cougars. Bjornstad averaged 15.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and four blocks per game last season as Columbia River finished second at the state championship. It was the best finish in school history. Bjornstad is the third Washington native to join WSU's men's team beginning this fall, following Anthony Brown of Shadle Park High School in Spokane and Seattle's Reggie Moore. The Cougars now have six Washingtonians on their roster. |
