WSU women suffer 7-point loss against Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Davelynn Whyte scored 20 points and made a career-high six assists to lead Arizona past Washington State 73-66 on Thursday night.

The Wildcats (10-10, 4-6 Pac-10) held a 48-38 rebounding advantage thanks to Ify Ibekwe and Reiko Thomas, who each grabbed 11 from the boards.

Ibekwe also scored 12 points for the double-double. Soana Lucet finished with 18.

The Cougars (5-16, 0-10) briefly led three times early in the second period, but they watched as the Wildcats went on a 13-2 scoring run midway through the half to take the lead for good.

April Cook led the Cougars with 13 points while KiKi Moore and Carly Noyes each added 11 and Katie Madison scored 10.
