The Seattle Mariners say Ken Griffey Jr. has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to remove a bone spur. The team says Griffey had the surgery on Monday in Cincinnati and was performed by Dr. Timothy Kremchek. Normal recovery time is four to six weeks.

In seven starts, Hernandez had a 1.52 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 53 1-3 innings pitched. In addition to Tuesday's award, he's one of the top candidates for the AL Cy Young Award. He finished 2009 with a 19-5 record and a 2.49 ERA.
