Top Mariners prospects wait for big league call in Tacoma

Top Mariners prospects wait for big league call in Tacoma
SEATTLE -- Seattle Mariners fans have waited a long time for a specific crop of young, talented prospects to make it to the big leagues.

Here's the good news: Most of those youngsters are now only one step away from Seattle, playing with the Tacoma Rainiers.

There's catcher Mike Zunino, second baseman Nick Franklin, and starting pitchers James Paxton and Danny Hultzen. They're considered four of the M's top five prospects, and some of the best players in all of the minor leagues.

It's not a matter of "if," bit "when" these guys will get their first call to the big leagues. For now, they're biding their time a few miles away at Cheney Stadium.

As for Mariners' fans, the wait is almost over for this talented cast of reinforcements. We could possibly see all these prospects at Safeco Field at some point this season.
