What is the best way to find out the latest road conditions when I’m away from my TV and computer?By Rachelle MurciaI understand that you can’t watch me all of the time, so there are some other tools you can use. One, the Washington State Department of Transportation has a drivers information line. It will give you the latest closures and incidents. That number is 5-1-1. If you are out of state, but want to know what’s happening on WA roads, dial 1-800-695-ROAD (7623) You can also get a free subscription to Twitter. Just go to twitter.com, sign up, and search for WSDOT_traffic and follow them. Then, sign up to have their tweets come as test messages to your phone. (make sure you have a passenger read them or read them when you are stopped J) And, you can follow me too on Twitter @RachelleKOMO. Monday through Friday mornings, I will send out tweets of major problems on our roads. In fact, look for all of the members of the morning team on Twitter for news updates and a peak into the behind the scenes. Most Popular
