That answer is true. The state’s hands-free law does not apply to a person with a hearing aid. It’s still not recommended they talk on a cell phone while driving, but they won’t be cited for it. Still, there’s no texting and driving allowed. That’s illegal. Here’s the hands-free law ESSB 5037.
