Would you kindly explain the right of way of roundabouts?

I had to consult my DOL handbook to find the exact rules of right away in a round about. Here's exactly how it's stated in the manual: "A roundabout is an intersection control device with traffic circulating around an island. Approaching vehicles must yield to the traffic in the circle. Always yield to pedestrians and bicyclists who are legally crossing the road. Inside the circle, always drive around the circle to the right."

Simply put, entering traffic has to wait for a gap in the traffic already traveling in the round about before they can enter. The traffic already within the circle has the right of way.
