This question makes me believe you or someone you know got caught in the 405 repaving construction mess on the August 15th weekend. The good news, the major closures are over for now.

There will be no other daytime closures. The rest of the construction work will be done in the overnight hours as to not create the massive backups experienced.

And, from the timeline the DOT has put out, it looks like all of the work will be wrapped up in the fall. So there are no worries about the work delaying any Thanksgiving Day travels.
