In Washington state, the child has to be 5 foot 1 inch and over 100 pounds or the age of 13 to ride in the front street.

If a child has to ride in the front, make sure to push the passenger seat as far away from the dashboard as possible. Kids should not ride in a rear facing seat in the front passenger seat of a car with a passenger side airbag. This is a great site for rules on child safety in cars: www.saferchild.com
