Celebrate fitness and heart-healthy living at the Start! Heart Walk in Seattle and Tacoma .  This is a family-friendly event that honors survivors (from children to adults) and pays tribute to loved ones lost to heart disease and stroke.  Participants enjoy a fitness walk with their team of friends, family or co-workers, and help to raise money for cardiovascular research and community programs.  The festival following the walk will feature food, giveaways, children’s activities, interactive booths, and resources for heart-healthy living.

The Heart Walk is the signature fundraising event for the American Heart Association (AHA), a non-profit agency dedicated to building healthier lives, free from cardiovascular diseases and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 3 killers in Washington . This year more than 8,000 walkers are expected and the AHA hopes to raise more than $2 million for cardiovascular research, awareness programs, and other initiatives that improve the cardiovascular health of Americans.
