Minnesota's not the only place at -30

Minnesota's not the only place at -30
Mount Rainier is seen in this USGS file photo.
You don't have to go to the Twin Cities or International Falls to find temperatures well below zero. In fact, you don't even have to leave the state. I had a reader ask if it's so cold down here in the lowlands, how cold must it be atop Mt. Rainier?

Lo and behold, the National Weather Service does put out a recreational forecast for Mt. Rainier. And it shows a forecasted "high" of -27 at the summit on Thursday.

You can see the forecast this link.

But what if I told you that there's a place much lower than 14,400 feet where -27 will seem balmy?

Just head over to Siberia, where temperatures are expected to drop to -70F this week!
