How soon we forget: It's been a really wet May!

Wow, what a nice, sunny weekend.

What perfect time to talk about how wet it's been! :)

The first two weeks of May have been among the wettest all time for several Western Washington cities.  Seattle, Hoquiam and Olympia have all set records for the wettest first two weeks of the month, and Bellingham tied their record.

For Seattle, we've had 3.04" since May 1st -- way over the average of just shy of 2". It's already the 7th wettest May on record with about two weeks left to go.

(The wettest first two weeks at Sea-Tac Airport was 2.35" set in 1948, which holds the record for wettest May ever at 4.76".)

Here is where Seattle stacks up right now:

SEATTLE TACOMA AIRPORT TOP 7 WETTEST MAYS

1. 4.76 INCHES  (1948)

5. 3.27 INCHES  (2000)
6. 3.07 INCHES  (1961)
7. 3.04 INCHES  (2009) AND (1960)

More rain is expected Monday night into Tuesday, but not much. And long range forecasts beyond Tuesday dry us out, so the top position is probably safe. But Top 5 is not out of the question.
