Soaker of a Thursday breaks several rainfall records

If you thought it rained a lot on Thursday, you were correct.

The relentless rains set all sorts of daily rainfall records for May 3, incluing Seattle's 0.73" that broke the old record of 0.59" set in 1948.

Here is a complete list of records and rainfall totals observed around Western Washington, courtesy of the National Weather Service:

IN ADDITION...THE OLYMPIA HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS ONLY 50 DEGREES...13 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THIS BREAKS THE PREVIOUS RECORD LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 51 DEGREES FOR THE DAY. MANY OTHER CLIMATE SITES WERE ONLY A DEGREE OR TWO OFF THEIR RECORD LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES YESTERDAY.
