The sunset Thursday night was pretty amazing, but then Mother Nature had to go and one up herself.
Take a look at this photo of a lightning strike that hit Whidbey Island Thursday evening. It's a still frame off an HD time lapse camera that Greg Johnson runs at Skunkbayweather.com. According to the time stamp, it stuck at 10:15 p.m.

A very tiny, but powerful thunder cell developed right over Whidbey Island and drifted off to the northwest over the Olympic Peninsula. But more storms formed overnight and more are possible through the weekend so keep those eyes to the skies and those cameras rolling!
