You can sure give it a try the next time we're sweltering, but you're not likely to have much luck. According to The American Egg Board, eggs need to reach between 144 and 158 degrees before they are considered "cooked."
And while sidewalks and, most notably, black-topped roadways do get pretty hot on days when the air temperature pushes 90, they usually fall well short of the needed 144 degrees. But if you manage to get one to cook on your local sidewalk, let us know. Just be sure to clean up your mess when you're done -- and please don't eat it!
