What Is The Dew Point?
SEATTLE - The dew point is the temperature at which the air becomes 100% saturated -- as in, it can't hold any more water vapor. When the temperature and dew point are close together, that's when we get fog. But the lower the dew point, the drier the air.

For example, if the temperature is 80 degrees with a dew point of 60, that feels quite humid. But if it's 80 degrees with a dew point of 45 degrees, that's much drier and more comfortable.

East of the Rockies, dew points can range from 60-70 degrees, which feels quite humid. Around here, the dew points are mainly between 45 and 55 degrees in summer, which keeps the weather very comfortable -- even on warm days.
