Updated Wednesday 6:27 a.m.
Today's magic number is 12.
Once the clock strikes midnight tonight, Seattle will officially have had 12 straight days without any measurable rainfall.
We've also have 12 consecutive weekend days with mainly dry and mild weather -- that's six straight weekends good to get outside.
The flow of air streaming in from the Pacific Ocean will be stronger today, keeping our cooling trend going. We dropped from the 80s Monday to the 70s Tuesday, and this afternoon will likely stay in the 60s. That said, the onshore flow won't drag in a thick blanket of clouds. We'll have sunshine at times, and a partly sunny afternoon is a safe bet for much of Western Washington.
Upper-level low pressure will move closer on Thursday and Friday, giving us more cloudcover and lowering daytime temperatures further. Highs will only reach the low 60s on Thursday and barely make it to 60 degrees on Friday. There will also be areas of drizzle, especially in the morning. If Seattle doesn't get any drizzle, the dry streak will likely extend to 14 days.
Higher pressure will build back in for the upcoming weekend, extending our weekend streak as well. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny on Saturday with highs in the upper 60s. Sunday will start off dry and sunny with increasing clouds in the afternoon. Highs will stay in the upper 60s.
All signs point to a pattern change for next week. Showers and clouds will return as soon as Sunday night and rain is likely on Monday. A series of weather systems will move over Western Washington for much of next week, likely keeping us in a wetter pattern for several days. Long-range computer forecast models show another drying trend on or around the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Make it a great day --
