Two home owners and a neighborhood, all along 227th SW in Mountlake Terrace, are using their displays to build community and feed those in need. Amanda Schnee spends a lot of time standing on the street by her house this time of year. She is collecting food and money for the Mountlake Terrace food bank. Her father, Darin covers his house and yard in lights. He wants his hard work not just to entertain but to draw attention to the problem of hunger. Vandals have struck, snow has fallen, rain has poured down but each year the Schnee’s are back with a better display and a larger collection bin. Most Popular |
